Realization

I've been spending a lot of time in Barnes and Noble lately. Researching various books to fuel my current quest to better myself. Every time I've been there, I notice their table set up for graduates. Not knowing any this year, I've avoided it each time assuming it was a table full of "Oh the Places You'll Go".

Today, the table caught my eye with the 2010 edition of "What Color Is Your Parachute". I hadn't realized it had been updated since the Seventies. Upon further inspection of the table, I realized it was filled with books designed to help you "discover yourself" and "choose your path" and "find your career" and most notably, "follow your dreams". What a wonderful collection of books and choices. Books I had written off as "only for graduates" has impacted me as a table of reinvention.

While those books may have served as seeds when I was seventeen years old, sitting here at thirty-five, I find them as inspiration as I ponder "what's next" without the post-graduation fear of "what now?".

It's a great reminder that it is never too late to "discover yourself", "choose your path", "find your career", or "follow your dreams". Never.
